The database records more than 616,557 unique visitors and more than 1,045,160 page views annually, and the CDC invites public comment by February 3, 2026.

CDC estimates an annual respondent burden of 1,449 hours to update and verify the NPIN database, including 1,200 initial questionnaires (7 minutes each), 11,135 telephone verifications (6 minutes each), and 1,965 email verifications (6 minutes each).
