New in‑flight vibration checks
If your Airbus Helicopter AS332 (models AS332C/C1/L/L1) has Airbus modification 0722907, you must repetitively measure vibration levels in flight during the first flight after certain maintenance tasks and thereafter. Measurements must check the 11.7–12.7 Hz band and if vibration exceeds 0.08 g (0.40 IPS) you must, before further flight, remove the dual hoist or remove the blade de‑icing harnesses per the Airbus service bulletin.
Remove hoist or de‑icing now
For AS332 helicopters without Airbus modification 0722907 installed, you must remove the removable parts of the dual hoist installation or remove the de‑icing system within 7 days after May 20, 2020. The FAA estimates the labor cost for either removal is 12 work‑hours at $85/hour, or $1,020 per helicopter.
Installation restricted until requirements met
The proposed AD would prohibit installing the de‑icing system and the dual hoist unless the specified measurement and configuration requirements are accomplished. That means new installations of those systems are not allowed until the AD’s requirements are satisfied.
Placard and manual alternative
For AS332 helicopters without modification 0722907, you may comply by revising the rotorcraft flight manual (inserting specified pages) and installing a locally made placard on the instrument panel instead of removing the hoist or de‑icing system. The FAA estimates on‑condition labor to revise the RFM or to install the placard is 1 work‑hour at $85 each (cost per action $85).
Who may perform checks and record them
Measuring the vibration levels in‑flight and inserting pages into the rotorcraft flight manual may be performed by the owner/operator pilot who holds at least a private pilot certificate, and these actions must be entered into the aircraft maintenance records in accordance with 14 CFR 43.9(a) and 91.417(a)(2)(v). The FAA treats these checks and RFM insertions as actions pilots may perform because they involve recording data and inserting pages rather than maintenance.

2026-15585, Requirements for Interference-Tolerant Radio Altimeter Systems
In July 2025, President Trump signed the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Section 40002 of that law re-institutes the Federal Communications Commission's general auction authority and specifically directs the Commission to complete a system of competitive bidding for not less than 100 megahertz in the 3.98-4.2 gigahertz band (Upper C- band). This final rule supports the Federal Communications Commission's July 2026 Report and Order that makes 160 megahertz of the Upper C-band available for terrestrial wireless flexible use via a system of competitive bidding. To ensure safe, efficient, and reliable aviation operations in the presence of wireless signals in the C-band, the Federal Aviation Administration is issuing new regulations that require all radio altimeters to meet specific minimum performance requirements. These new radio altimeters must withstand interference from wireless signals in neighboring spectrum bands and continue to provide accurate altitude readings to both pilots and integrated aircraft safety systems. These regulations require all aircraft equipped with radio altimeters operating under part 121 and those aircraft with radio altimeters operating under part 129 with 30 or more passenger seats or a payload capacity of more than 7,500 pounds to comply with the minimum performance requirements by December 30, 2030, which is prior to the date the Federal Communications Commission authorizes the use of the Upper C-band for new wireless services, as stated in its Report and Order. All other aircraft equipped with radio altimeters that are required to comply with part 91, including aircraft operating under parts 125, 133, 135, 136, 137, 194, and all other aircraft operating under part 129 that are not subject to the initial deadline, must comply with the same minimum performance requirements on or before October 31, 2034.

2026-17551, Airworthiness Directives; Airbus SAS Airplanes
The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2024-25- 06, which applied to all Airbus SAS Model A318 and A320 series airplanes; and Model A319-111, -112, -113, -114, -115, -131, -132, - 133, -151N, -153N, and -171N airplanes; and Model A321-111, -112, -131, -211, -212, -213, -231, -232, -251N, -252N, -253N, -271N, -272N, - 251NX, -252NX, -253NX, -271NX, -272NX, and -253NY airplanes. AD 2024- 25-06 required repetitive inspections of the main landing gear (MLG) door actuators and, depending on findings, accomplishment of applicable corrective actions, and prohibited the installation of affected parts. Since the FAA issued AD 2024-05-06, the FAA determined that replacing the MLG door actuators is necessary to address the unsafe condition, and the applicability and definition of an affected part must be expanded. This AD continues to require the actions in AD 2024-25-06, requires replacing affected parts with serviceable parts, and expands the applicability and definition of an affected part. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
2026-17552, Airworthiness Directives; Airbus SAS Airplanes
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus SAS Model A320-211, -212, -214, -216, -231, -232, and - 233 airplanes; and Model A321-111, -112, -131, -211, -212, -213, -231, and -232 airplanes. This AD was prompted by a fatigue test that identified cracks in the forward and aft upper corner of the bulk cargo door. This AD requires a rototest inspection for cracks and applicable on-condition actions. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
