Flood insurance costs or rules may change
If you live in or own property in any of the listed communities in CT, FL, GA, IL, KY, LA, MA, MN, NC, PA, or TX, your flood insurance costs or purchase requirements might change because FEMA finalized new flood hazard determinations between Oct. 6, 2025 and Dec. 15, 2025. Check your local community map repository or the FEMA Map Service Center online to see if your property’s flood zone, Base Flood Elevation, or regulatory floodway changed.
Communities must adopt NFIP floodplain rules
The new or modified flood hazard information is the basis for floodplain management measures that each listed community is required to adopt or to show are already in effect in order to remain qualified for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). These LOMRs were finalized on the dates shown in the table (Oct. 6, 2025 through Dec. 15, 2025).
Maps revised — use new community number for policies
FEMA’s Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) revisions update the Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) and, in some cases, Flood Insurance Study (FIS) reports.
