Caltrans will build a northbound express lane on Interstate 680 in Contra Costa County from postmile 10.7 to postmile 23.1, with a 2-mile gap at the State Route 24 interchange. The project also adds braided ramps at Treat Boulevard and converts the existing high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane from State Route 242 to north of Arthur Road into an express lane; it is intended to ease traffic and improve travel times for drivers in the area.
