CDC Seeks TB Advisory Nominations
The CDC is accepting nominations for membership on the Advisory Council for the Elimination of Tuberculosis (ACET). Nominations must be emailed with subject line "ACET 2026 Nomination" and received no later than March 31, 2026.
Parents Of Children With TB Eligible
One recognized form of TB expertise is having been the parent of a child with TB disease, and such parents may be nominated for ACET. Nominees must submit a CV, at least one non-HHS letter of recommendation, and a biographical sketch of 500 words or fewer.
Membership Is Special Government Employee
ACET members are Special Government Employees and may be invited to serve for up to four-year terms. As Special Government Employees, members are required to file financial disclosure reports at the beginning of and annually during their terms.
Citizenship And Federal Employee Rules
Nominees must be U.S. citizens and cannot be full-time employees of the U.S. Government; federal employees will not be considered for membership. Selection is based on qualifications in relevant fields and appointments are made without discrimination on listed bases.
CDC Retains Nominations For Two Years
CDC will collect and retain nominations for up to two years to create a pool of potential ACET nominees and may contact nominees when vacancies occur. A candidate not selected in one year may be reconsidered in subsequent years.
