BOX Options Market Raises Stakes on Gigabit Connections
Published Date: 2/18/2026
Notice
Summary
BOX Exchange is updating its fee schedule to change the prices for 10 gigabit internet connections used by traders on its options market. These new connectivity fees kick in on February 2, 2026, and will affect anyone who connects to BOX’s trading platform. The goal? To keep things fair and clear for all market participants while making sure the tech side runs smoothly.
Analyzed Economic Effects
4 provisions identified: 3 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.
10 Gb Monthly Fee Increase
If you directly connect to BOX using a 10 gigabit (10 Gb) physical connection, your monthly fee goes up from $5,400 to $6,000. This new $600/month price takes effect on February 2, 2026 and applies to all market participants that voluntarily purchase a 10 Gb Connection.
No Installation Fee Charged
BOX does not charge an installation fee for its 10 Gb Connection, unlike some competitor exchanges that charge installation costs. That one-time installation charge is not assessed by BOX for customers who subscribe to a 10 Gb Connection.
Non‑10 Gb Fee Unchanged
If you use a non-10 Gb physical connection to BOX, the monthly fee remains $1,080 and is not changing under this filing. That lower-priced connectivity option is still available to market participants after February 2, 2026.
Optional and Uniform Connectivity Pricing
BOX states that the 10 Gb Connection is optional, available to all customers at the same price, and that no broker-dealer is required to connect directly to BOX. Market participants may instead use indirect connectivity via third-party resellers as an alternative.
