Up to 7 Days Paid Sick Leave
If you work for a federal contractor, the Executive Order requires parties who contract with the Federal Government to provide employees with up to 7 days of paid sick time each year, including paid time for family care. The Department of Labor references these requirements in the implementing regulations at 29 CFR 13.
Contractor Recordkeeping Requirements
Employers subject to the Order must make and maintain records about leave accrual and use, requests and written responses, dates and amounts of leave used, certification/ documentation for leave of at least 3 consecutive days, tracking or calculations of accrual/use, the covered contract, pay and benefits while on leave, and any payment for unused sick leave on separation. The Department estimates this information collection would affect 1,321,800 respondents, produce 39,049,276 responses, require 769,122 annual hours, and impose $1,598,951.52 in annual other costs (OMB Control Number 1235-0029).
