Mothers' PRAMS Time Burden Reduced
The Pregnancy Risk Assessment Monitoring System (PRAMS) will continue to collect data and CDC estimates the total annual respondent burden is 29,773 hours, a decrease of 1,495 hours. The decrease is from removing call back surveys (1,395 hours) and cognitive/field testing (100 hours); individual survey times are listed as 26 minutes for the live-birth questionnaire (51,556 respondents), 8 minutes for supplemental modules (52,984 respondents), and 25 minutes for the stillbirth questionnaire (160 respondents). There are no costs to respondents other than their time, and CDC has requested OMB approval for three years (current approval expires 03/31/2026).

This Order was issued on August 12, 2026, and shall remain in effect through 4:59 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) on Friday, September 11, 2026. This Order may be amended or rescinded prior to that time at the discretion of the Director.
