CDC Surveys Ask Providers For Time

If you are a health care provider, state/local agency, or related business, CDC may ask you to take part in interviews, surveys, focus groups, or experiments to improve the National Health Care Surveys. CDC requests OMB approval for a three-year generic clearance and estimates a total annual burden of 3,000 hours, with examples of 2,582 responses averaging 1 hour each and 167 responses averaging 2.5 hours; individual activities include 15–40 minute interviews and 90-minute focus groups. There is no cost to respondents other than the time to participate.

Possible Inclusion of New Provider Types

CDC may expand developmental studies to include provider types and settings not currently in the National Health Care Surveys, such as dentists, psychologists, podiatrists, chiropractors, optometrists, mid-level providers, allied-health professionals, home care agencies, long-term care hospitals, facilities serving individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, and small/mid/large medical providers, managed care plans, and retail clinics. Studies may also evaluate electronic health record data extraction and submission from those providers and settings to test feasibility and data quality.
