Exchange May List Multi-Asset Crypto Options
If you trade or invest in options, NYSE Arca can now list options on trusts that hold multiple crypto assets without needing extra SEC approval. The SEC approved this change on April 1, 2026, so the Exchange may list these options soon after it lists the underlying trust shares.
Per-Asset $700M Liquidity Requirement
If you buy options on a multi-crypto-asset trust, each crypto asset in that trust must have an average daily market value of at least $700,000,000 over the last 12 months and must underlie a derivatives contract that trades on a market with which the Exchange has a comprehensive surveillance sharing agreement (including through ISG). These criteria come from Exchange Rule 5.3-O(g)(3).
Monthly Watchlist; Suspension If Criteria Fail
If any crypto asset in a trust stops meeting the $700,000,000 average daily market value test over the last 12 months or no longer underlies a derivatives contract traded on a market with a surveillance-sharing agreement, the Exchange can suspend opening transactions in the options. The Exchange will assess the $700,000,000 test on a monthly basis.
Same ETF-Options Rules Apply
If you trade options on these multi-crypto-asset trusts, those options will follow the same ETF-options rules as other ETF options on the Exchange. That includes rules on expirations, exercise prices, minimum increments, position and exercise limits, margin requirements, customer accounts, and trading halt procedures.
