Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 0 costs, 0 mixed.

Require FBW Control Annunciation

For the Robinson Model R66 modified by Skyryse, the FAA would require a display that shows the commanded positions of the primary flight controls and any information about the digital fly-by-wire (FBW) system state. This rule applies to the Skyryse STC for the R66 and is intended to provide pilot awareness comparable to mechanical control feedback.

Flightcrew Mode, Alerts, and Display Rules

The FAA would require the FBW flight control system to be designed to minimize flightcrew errors and confusion, show the current mode of operation, group controls and indications clearly, include any degraded functions needed for safe flight and landing, and ensure displays are visible under all expected lighting conditions. These requirements apply to the Skyryse FBW modification for the Robinson Model R66.
