Who Can Request Repatriation and Process Rules
Repatriation requests may be submitted by the Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Tribes named in this notice, or by any lineal descendant, Indian Tribe, or Native Hawaiian organization that shows by a preponderance of the evidence a cultural affiliation. If competing requests are received, the Yale Peabody Museum must determine the most appropriate requestor before repatriation, and joint requests are treated as a single request; written requests must be sent to the Interim Director at the address in the notice.
