Data Used to Manage Education Benefits

If you are a service member, veteran, or military‑connected user, MilGears will collect online personal and professional data to generate personalized career and credential recommendations and to manage educational and transitional benefits such as Tuition Assistance, credentialing, apprenticeships, and SkillBridge. The platform will also be used to manage enrollments, process benefit applications, support Learning and Employment Records, and provide DoD leadership with user trend insights.

MilGears Time and Response Burden

If you are a service member, veteran, or member of the public using MilGears, you may be asked to spend about 30 minutes to create an account and provide information. The Department estimates 50,000 respondents with one response each, for 50,000 annual responses and 25,000 annual burden hours.
