Grants Up to $1,000,000 Per Year

If you are part of a college or an education organization that trains teachers, you can apply for grants under the FY 2026 National Professional Development program. Awards are up to $1,000,000 per year for successful applicants.

Who Is Eligible to Apply

Eligible applicants are institutions of higher education or public or private entities with relevant experience and capacity, applying in consortia with State educational agencies and/or local educational agencies. Applicants must meet those consortium requirements to be considered for an award.

Funding Focus: English Learners & Literacy

The FY 2026 competition has an absolute priority of providing professional development to improve instruction for English learners (ELs). Competitive preference priorities include promoting evidence-based literacy and returning education to the States, and there is an invitational priority for developing a collaborative framework to measure teacher pedagogical practices to enhance student outcomes.

Apply by July 14, 2026 Deadline

If you intend to apply for these grants, you must submit a complete proposal electronically through Grants.gov by 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern time on July 14, 2026. Late submissions will not meet the stated deadline.
