Treasury Savings Data to Verify SSI
If you apply for or receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), the Social Security Administration (SSA) will receive savings security data from the Department of the Treasury starting June 26, 2026 for an 18-month period. SSA will use this data to check whether you still qualify for SSI or whether your benefit amount is correct; Fiscal Service will respond with details like purchase amount, account number, series, issue date, and current redemption value. The finder file will include about 10 million records with names and Social Security numbers.
