Contractors Must Keep Privacy Training Records

If you are a federal contractor, FAR clause 52.224-3(d) requires you to maintain a record of initial and annual privacy training for employees who (a) have access to a system of records, (b) create, collect, use, process, store, maintain, disseminate, disclose, dispose, or otherwise handle personally identifiable information for an agency, or (c) design, develop, maintain, or operate a system of records. You must also provide documentation of completion to the contracting officer if requested.

Three-Year Extension Proposed for Privacy Training Collection

The agencies request OMB extend approval of OMB Control No. 9000-0182 for three additional years beyond the current expiration of October 31, 2026, which would keep the privacy-training information collection in effect. The collection currently lists 4,282 respondents, 25,799 total annual responses, and 12,873 total annual burden hours (27 reporting hours + 12,846 recordkeeping hours). Comments are due by July 21, 2026.
