Paperwork Extension for Health Loan Programs

HRSA is proposing to extend the Office of Management and Budget information-collection approval for the Health Professions Student Loan (HPSL), Loans for Disadvantaged Students (LDS), Primary Care Loan (PCL), and Nursing Student Loan (NSL) administrative requirements without substantive changes. HRSA estimates total annualized burden hours of 9,742 for the forms in Table 1, and provides additional detailed estimates (for example, 20,496 hours for HPSL/LDS/PCL recordkeeping and 4,584 hours for NSL recordkeeping, and reporting subtotals of 310,670 hours for HPSL and 7,567 hours for NSL in Tables 2–3). Comments are requested by July 27, 2026.

Schools Must Maintain Loan Records

Participating schools—including schools that no longer disburse loans—must continue to maintain program records, student records, and repayment records until all student loans are repaid in full and all monies due to the federal government are returned. The notice explicitly identifies institutions that have received HPSL, LDS, PCL, and/or NSL awards as the likely respondents.
