Tribal Agencies Face Survey Time and Cost

Tribal law enforcement agencies are asked to voluntarily complete an electronic web survey between September and December 2026. BJS expects 303 agencies to respond, with each web survey taking about 30 minutes (plus 5 minutes to review invitation materials and 15 minutes to use the Question Guide), total estimated burden 260 hours and an estimated aggregate cost to respondents of $9,921.60; 30 agencies may be contacted for 15-minute follow-ups. Public comments on the collection are open through August 3, 2026.
