RRMC workers moved to single wage area

Starting July 6, 2026, all Federal Wage System (FWS) workers at the Raven Rock Mountain Complex (RRMC) will be paid under the Washington‑Baltimore‑Arlington wage area instead of being split between two wage areas. This change applies on the first day of the first pay period beginning on or after July 6, 2026, and OPM expects it to affect around 50 FWS employees to align pay and prevent pay disparities.

Staunton and Waynesboro moved to W‑B‑A area

The rule removes the Cities of Staunton and Waynesboro, Virginia, from the Roanoke wage area and places them in the Washington‑Baltimore‑Arlington wage area effective with this rule (effective July 6, 2026). This corrects a previous duplication and changes the wage‑area definition that applies to FWS employees in those cities.
