Romania submitted a request on October 3, 2024, for U.S. assistance under the Convention on Cultural Property Implementation Act; the Committee will review that request at the July 14-16, 2026 meeting. The Cultural Heritage Center website will provide information on categories of Romanian material that may be included in any import restrictions if the request proceeds.

The public may observe the Committee's virtual open session on July 14, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (EDT) and registered participants may give oral comments. To register to speak or request accommodations, email the Cultural Heritage Center by July 5, 2026; written comments must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. (EDT) on July 5, 2026 via regulations.gov (Docket DOS-2026-0628) or confidentially by email as directed in the notice.
