Analyzed Economic Effects

3 provisions identified: 2 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Medical care and records for astronauts

NASA will collect health information from former astronauts and former payload specialists under the TREAT Astronauts Act (Pub. L. 115-10) to provide medical evaluation and treatment for conditions associated with human spaceflight. Authorized healthcare providers at Johnson Space Center's Occupational Health Branch will maintain complete medical records covering routine care, emergency treatment, surveillance examinations, and exposure histories. The collection is intended to support clinical care and to identify gaps in long-term medical services for these former crew members.

Respondent time burden and scope

This information collection lists 175 affected members of the public with an estimated 175 annual responses. NASA estimates each response will take 0.5 hours, for an estimated total of 87.5 annual burden hours.

Electronic or paper submission allowed

NASA will accept the health information collection by electronic or paper methods. You can submit information in either format as part of the TREAT Astronauts Act data collection.
