The DOJ will reopen the Census of Prosecutor Offices and invite 2,349 prosecutor offices to respond. Each office is expected to spend about 2 hours (a 60‑minute informational webinar, 15 minutes outreach/follow‑up, and 45 minutes to complete the survey), for a total burden of about 4,698 hours and a monetized labor value of $298,793 at $63.60 per hour.

Participation Is Voluntary

Responding to the Census of Prosecutor Offices is voluntary; prosecutor office participation is not required. The notice states the obligation to respond is voluntary and that there are no costs beyond the estimated hours of staff time.
