Dona Ana County added — ~500 gain PRC
The Indian Health Service proposes to expand the Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo Purchased/Referred Care Delivery Area to include Dona Ana County, New Mexico. IHS and the Tribe estimate this expansion would increase the Tribe's PRC-eligible population by about 500 Tribal members; the Tribe says Dona Ana County is about 45 miles from its reservation and clinic so members there would be able to use the YDSP Health Clinic as primary care.
Hudspeth County omission corrected
The notice states that Hudspeth County, Texas is part of the Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo PRCDA and that recent listings had omitted Hudspeth County because of a clerical error which IHS has corrected. Tribal members residing in Hudspeth County are therefore within the PRCDA and eligible for PRC services consistent with the PRCDA rules.
IHS says no extra funding needed
The Tribe indicated, and IHS found, that expanding the PRCDA to include Dona Ana County could continue to provide the same level of PRC care to eligible people without requiring additional IHS funding or reducing the current medical priority level.
