Open call: AMWG nominations due Aug 3, 2026

You or your organization can nominate candidates to serve on the Glen Canyon Dam Adaptive Management Work Group. Nominations must be postmarked by August 3, 2026 and sent to the Bureau of Reclamation address or the provided email addresses.

Appointees serve unpaid, 3-year terms

AMWG members are appointed to terms limited to 3 years from their appointment date and may request one reappointment; members serve without pay. Typically the AMWG holds two in-person meetings and one webinar per fiscal year, and members are expected to take part in calls and email work between meetings.

Travel and per diem reimbursement available

While away from their homes or regular places of business performing AMWG duties, members may be reimbursed for travel expenses, including per diem in lieu of subsistence, in the same manner as persons employed intermittently in the government service under 5 U.S.C. 5703.

State nominations must come from Governors

Nominations representing the seven Colorado River Basin States (Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming) must be submitted by the respective Governor or a state representative formally designated by the Governor; nominations must be postmarked by August 3, 2026.

Priority interest: Navajo, Zuni, and environmental reps

Interior states it is particularly interested in applications from representatives of the Navajo Nation and the Pueblo of Zuni, and from Environmental Organizations for current AMWG vacancies.
