You may not enter any waters of San Pedro Bay that are within a 1,000-foot radius of two fireworks barges (centered at 33°45'34.8" N, 118°10'04.1" W and 33°45'07.3" N, 118°08'31.9" W) from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. on July 4, 2026. Vessels and people found inside this zone without permission can be subject to enforcement during that hour.

How to get permission to enter

If you need to enter the safety zone during the enforcement period, you must obtain authorization from the Captain of the Port (COTP) Los Angeles--Long Beach or the COTP's designated representative. To seek permission, contact the COTP or representative on VHF-FM channel 16 or by telephone at (310) 521-3801 and follow any lawful orders given.
