Who Qualifies for VET TEC 2.0

You may qualify for the VET TEC 2.0 program if you are under age 62, have at least 3 years (36 months) of Active Duty service (or are within 180 days of discharge who will reach 36 months by discharge), and received a discharge under conditions other than dishonorable. The program covers high-technology education programs that begin prior to September 30, 2027.

Employment and Education Verification Timing

VA requires verification that a Veteran obtained successful employment or furthered education in the same field within 180 days of program completion. A subsequent verification of continued employment is required after 180 days (or after 365 days if the Veteran was hired by the Training Provider that ran the VET TEC 2.0 program).

New VA Form and Time Burden

VA is proposing a new form — VA Form 22-10299 — for Veterans and Training Provider School Certifying Officials to attest to employment or further educational pursuit; the agency estimates 4,000 respondents, an average burden of 5 minutes per respondent, and a total annual burden of 333 hours. The public comment period for this information collection is open through September 8, 2026.
