Employer-attestation removed from PSLF form
The Department of Education is removing an attestation (signed under penalty of perjury) from the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) & Temporary Expanded PSLF (TEPSLF) Certification & Application (OMB Control No. 1845-0110). The attestation — which would have required employers to state they had not engaged in activities with a substantial illegal purpose on or after July 1, 2026 — was removed after a Federal judge vacated the related rule on June 30, 2026.
Certification timing reminder for PSLF progress
You should submit the PSLF & TEPSLF Certification & Application (OMB Control No. 1845-0110) each year to track qualifying employment and payments, but you are required to submit it when you have reached the requisite 120 qualifying months of repayment. The form is used to have qualifying employment certified and to record progress toward loan forgiveness.
