FEP agency lists moved to EEOC website

The EEOC removed the lists of Fair Employment Practice (FEP) agencies from its regulations and will publish updated lists on its public website at https://www.eeoc.gov/fair-employment-practices-agencies-fepas-and-dual-filing. The lists will be updated at least annually so charging parties, respondents, stakeholders, and the public can find current FEP agency information more quickly.

Public notification via website replaces Federal Register

When the Commission designates, certifies, or revokes a FEP agency, it will notify the public by publishing an updated list on the EEOC website instead of publishing those lists in the Code of Federal Regulations. This method is intended to provide quicker public notice and make updates easier to effect.

Saves taxpayer money from reduced Federal Register updates

The EEOC states that moving the FEP agency lists to its website will save taxpayer money that otherwise would be spent publishing frequent updates in the Federal Register. The agency said the lists will still be kept current but in a location more likely consulted by the public.

Clarifies rule text for States with multiple local agencies

The rule makes a small wording change to 29 CFR 1601.70(d) to add the words 'the State and local agencies' so the text accounts for situations where a State has more than one local FEP agency. This revision does not change FEP agency procedures, according to the EEOC.
