30‑Day Suspension of Entry for Recent Travelers
CDC is suspending the right to introduce "covered aliens" who departed from or were present in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Uganda, or South Sudan during the last 21 days. The Order took effect July 13, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. EDT and remains in effect through 4:59 p.m. EDT on August 12, 2026, unless amended or rescinded earlier.
Specified Exceptions to the Suspension
The Order does not apply to U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals. It also excepts members of the U.S. armed forces and associated personnel (and their spouses and children) subject to required assurances, allows customs officers (with supervisor approval) to grant case-by-case exceptions, and permits provisional CDC exceptions with DHS-confirmed public health mitigation under a DHS‑approved process. These exception rules are effective for the same July 13–August 12, 2026 period.

For National Institute of Medical Research (NIMR), the award is approximately $2,000,000 for FFY 2026, with an expected total funding of approximately $10,000,000. For ASEAN+3 FETN Foundation, the award is approximately $500,000 in FFY 2026, with an expected total funding of approximately $2,500,000. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as part of its continuing effort to reduce public burden and maximize the utility of government information, invites the general public and other Federal agencies to take this opportunity to comment on a continuing information collection, as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995. This notice invites comment on the National Health Interview Survey (NHIS). This Extension is designed to include the continuation of current questionnaire content and data collection operations in 2027, as well as a systemic redesign of the NHIS to be implemented in 2028.
