NSEB Renewed For Four Years

The Department of Defense renewed the National Security Education Board and will keep it active for up to four years (renewal dated July 14, 2026). The NSEB will consult on the National Security Scholarship, Fellowships, and Grant Program (per 50 U.S.C. Ch. 37) and is composed of fourteen members, including the Secretary of Defense and six Presidential appointees.

Appointees Get Travel Reimbursement

Individuals appointed by the President to the NSEB shall receive no compensation for their service but all members will receive reimbursement of official NSEB-related travel and per diem. Presidential appointees serve for terms the President specifies, not to exceed four years.

Public May Submit Written Statements

Members of the public and interested organizations may submit written statements to the NSEB at any time or in response to a meeting agenda, and must send them to the Designated Federal Officer. The DFO will ensure those written statements are provided to NSEB members for consideration.
