Temporary closure of Cayuga Lake area

On August 8, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., a fixed area of Cayuga Lake in Ithaca, NY (bounded by coordinates beginning at 42°31'07.1" N 76°33'02.6" W and the other points listed in the rule) will be closed to all persons and vessels unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port Sector Eastern Great Lakes or a designated representative. Non-participants may not enter, transit, anchor in, or remain in the regulated area during that time; permission may be requested on VHF-FM channel 16 or by telephone at (888) 230-4703.

People and vessels registered with the event sponsor as participants are allowed in the regulated area during the event on August 8, 2026, from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The rule defines "participant" as persons and vessels registered with the event sponsor, who may operate in the area without needing additional authorization from the Captain of the Port.
