Savannah River construction workers added to SEC
HHS is adding a class of employees to the Special Exposure Cohort: all construction trade employees of DOE subcontractors who worked at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina, from January 1, 1991 through December 31, 1993, for at least 250 aggregated workdays. The designation becomes effective August 7, 2026.
Westinghouse prime-contractor employees excluded
The designation explicitly does not include employees of prime contractors of Westinghouse Savannah River Company who worked at the Savannah River Site during January 1, 1991 through December 31, 1993. Those prime-contractor employees are therefore not added to the Special Exposure Cohort under this action.
