Published Date: 8/3/2026

Notice

Summary

As part of its continuing effort to reduce paperwork burdens, and as required by the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA), the U.S. Election Assistance Commission (EAC) gives notice that it is requesting from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) an extension of the previously approved information collection OMB Control Number 3265-0026 EAC Progress Report (EAC-PR).

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Continuation of EAC Progress Report

The Election Assistance Commission is asking OMB to extend OMB Control Number 3265-0026 so EAC grantees and state governments must continue to submit the standardized EAC Progress Report (EAC-PR) for interim and final reports under HAVA. Comments on this collection are due by October 5, 2026, and the agency estimates an annual total burden of 194 hours and an annualized cost of $5,028.48 (using $25.92/hour).

Standardized Form Reduces Admin Burden

The EAC says the standardized EAC-PR form makes it easier for award recipients to administer federal grants and reduces their administrative effort and costs by standardizing the information required in progress reports. The format contains no changes from the version approved in November 2023.
