ORF Charged Only For On‑Exchange Customer Trades

Starting July 1, 2026, the Options Regulatory Fee (ORF) is assessed only for options executions that occur on NYSE Arca and that clear in the OCC customer range. The ORF will be collected by the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) on behalf of the Exchange from the clearing firm (OTP Holders/OTP Firms or non-OTP clearing firms) for those customer transactions.

ORF Rate Raised Then Reduced Schedule

Prior to July 1, 2026 the ORF was $0.0026 per contract. The Exchange set an ORF rate of $0.0120 per contract effective July 1, 2026 through August 31, 2026 and now proposes a lower rate of $0.0080 per contract effective September 1, 2026.

ORF Billing Uses Trade‑Date Clearing Instructions

The Exchange will assess ORF based on the clearing instruction provided on the execution on the trade date and will not take into account CMTA transfers or changes that occur at OCC; same‑day on‑Exchange adjustments will be considered. This affects which clearing firm and which side of a transaction the ORF is charged to.
