Permission, Communication, and Speed Rules While Enforced

If you need to be in a safety zone during enforcement, you must request permission from the Captain of the Port Eastern Great Lakes via VHF-FM channel 16 and obey any directions given. While in the safety zone, vessels must operate at the minimum speed necessary to maintain a safe course; the Coast Guard may also issue general permission or advance notices via Broadcast Notice to Mariners or Local Notice to Mariners.
