Coal Management Paperwork Extended

If you apply for or hold a Federal coal exploration license, coal lease, or license to mine coal — or if your land overlays Federal coal deposits as a surface owner or a State or tribal government — you must continue to provide information under OMB Control Number 1004-0073. The BLM estimates 1,017 annual respondents and responses, with completion times ranging from 1 to 800 hours per response, a total annual burden of 19,897 hours, and total annual non-hour costs of $943,463; the control number is scheduled to expire on 2027-02-28 and BLM plans to request a three-year extension.
