The museum says repatriation of this item may occur on or after September 23, 2026.
Who May Request Repatriation and Process
Any lineal descendant, Indian Tribe, or Native Hawaiian organization may submit a written request for the item to Lauren Jakobsson, Project Analyst, Princeton University Art Museum, Elm Drive, Princeton, NJ 08544, or by email at [email protected]. Requestors must show by a preponderance of the evidence that they are a lineal descendant or culturally affiliated; if competing requests arrive, the museum will decide the most appropriate requestor, and joint requests count as a single request.
