Temporary Waterway Closure for Power Boat Race

You cannot enter, transit through, anchor in, or remain in the regulated waters of Hambrooks Bay and nearby Choptank River (coordinates in rule) during enforcement hours of 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on August 29, 2026 and August 30, 2026, unless authorized by the Captain of the Port. The rule is effective from 9:00 a.m. on August 29, 2026 through 7:00 p.m. on August 30, 2026, but enforcement is limited to the 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. windows on those two days.

Authorization Required to Enter Regulated Area

If you want to enter the regulated area during the event, you must get permission from the Captain of the Port (COTP) or their designated representative by calling (410) 576-2693 or on VHF-FM channel 16. Only event participants registered with the host are automatically allowed; all others are non-participants and must obtain authorization.
