Summary
In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the Arizona State University, Center for Archaeology and Society Repository (CASR) acting in place of the Arizona State University, School of Human Evolution and Social Change (SHESC), has completed an inventory of human remains and associated funerary objects and has determined that there is a cultural affiliation between the human remains and associated funerary objects and Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations in this notice.

Repatriation available to O'Odham, Hopi, Zuni
If you are the Ak-Chin Indian Community; Gila River Indian Community; Salt River Pima‑Maricopa Indian Community; Tohono O'odham Nation; the Hopi Tribe; or the Zuni Tribe, you may request return of one Native American individual's human remains and two associated funerary object lots (one lot of ceramics and one lot of pollen samples) held by Arizona State University. Repatriation may occur on or after September 30, 2026. Requests may be filed by any listed tribe or by another tribe or lineal descendant who shows by a preponderance of the evidence a cultural affiliation; if competing requests are received, ASU CASR will determine the most appropriate requestor.
