The Department of Labor's (DOL or Department) Employment and Training Administration (ETA) is soliciting comments concerning a proposed revision for the authority to conduct the information collection request (ICR) titled, "Student Safety Assessment (SSA) of Job Corps students." This comment request is part of continuing Departmental efforts to reduce paperwork and respondent burden in accordance with the Paperwork Reduction Act of 1995 (PRA).

Survey Frequency Reduced to Biannual
The Student Safety Assessment (SSA) will be administered biannually. DOL estimates 48,000 total annual responses, an average of 0.25 hour (15 minutes) per response, and 12,000 total annual burden hours.
Survey Items Removed to Reduce Duplication
DOL removed duplicative survey items and refocused the SSA on student perceptions of safety to reduce respondent burden and improve the survey's focus. The revision is intended to shorten the instrument and reduce unnecessary questions.
Participation Is Voluntary Under PRA
Responding to the SSA is voluntary and DOL notes that a collection generally cannot be required unless OMB approves and the collection displays a valid OMB Control Number. Comments on this ICR are requested by November 2, 2026, and DOL cites OMB Control Number 1205-0542.
SSA Forms Available in English and Spanish
The SSA will be provided in English and Spanish (Student Safety Assessment (English) and Student Safety Assessment (Spanish)). This aims to improve access for students who prefer either language.

The Department of Labor (Department) is rescinding the regulations that established formal procedures for coordination of enforcement activities among the Wage and Hour Division (WHD), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Employment and Training Administration (ETA) with respect to migrant and seasonal farmworkers. The Department is rescinding these regulations because they are obsolete, no longer reflect the Department's organizational structure or operational practices, and are not needed for effective coordination among the relevant component agencies. The Employment and Training Administration (ETA) of the Department of Labor (DOL) is issuing this notice to announce updates to the Adverse Effect Wage Rates (AEWR) for the employment of temporary or seasonal nonimmigrant foreign workers (H-2A workers) to perform agricultural labor or services in non-range occupations. AEWRs are the minimum wage rates that must be offered, advertised in recruitment, and paid by employers to H-2A workers and workers in corresponding employment to ensure that the wages and working conditions of workers in the United States similarly employed are not adversely affected.
