You must use the FBI Credit Card Payment Form (Form 1-786) if you want a copy of your identification record from the FBI’s Next Generation Identification system. The DOJ estimates 36,385 respondents per year, about 2 minutes per response, a total annual burden of 1,213 hours, and an estimated annual cost burden of $33,624.36. Comments are accepted for 30 days until October 5, 2026, and DOJ seeks Paperwork Reduction Act authorization for this collection for three years.
