LED Tape Light System Scope Check
If you import or export LED tape light systems, Commerce received a scope ruling application for an "LED Tape Light System" produced in and exported from China and Thailand. The application was filed July 8, 2026 by Wangs Alliance Corporation and WAC Lighting (Dongguan) Co., Ltd., and the application details are available on ACCESS as of September 4, 2026. Commerce will determine whether this product falls within the antidumping and/or countervailing duty orders for aluminum extrusions from China.
Cold-Drawn Tubing Scope Inquiry Filed
If you import or export inner-surface-finished cold-drawn mechanical tubing, Commerce received a scope ruling application for that product produced in and exported from China and India. Multiple U.S. domestic companies (ArcelorMittal Tubular Products; Michigan Seamless Tube, LLC; PTC Alliance LLC; Webco Industries, Inc.; and Zekelman Industries, Inc.) filed the application on July 9, 2026, and the application is available on ACCESS as of September 4, 2026. Commerce will determine whether the tubing is covered by the AD and/or CVD orders for certain cold-drawn mechanical tubing.
Mattress Foam Scope Application Filed
If you import or export polyurethane foams used in mattresses, Commerce received a scope ruling application for polyurethane foams produced in and exported from Mexico. Kuka Sleep, Inc. submitted the application on July 27, 2026, and the application is available on ACCESS as of September 4, 2026. Commerce will decide whether these foams are covered by the antidumping duty order on mattresses from Mexico.

The U.S. Department of Commerce found that Hyundai Steel and POSCO from South Korea got unfair government help on their hot-rolled steel in 2023. Because of this, extra taxes (called countervailing duties) will apply to their steel imports starting October 9, 2026. This means U.S. steel buyers might pay a bit more, and Korean producers will have to adjust to these new rules.

Starting October 8, 2026, the U.S. is putting extra taxes on oleoresin paprika imported from India because it's being sold too cheaply and getting unfair government help. 2026-20691, Certain Paper Shopping Bags From Taiwan: Preliminary Results and Rescission, in Part, of Antidumping Duty Administrative Review; 2024-2025
The U.S. Department of Commerce reviewed paper shopping bags from Taiwan sold between January 2024 and June 2025. They found that Haur Tyi Paper Bag Co. didn’t sell these bags at unfairly low prices, and they stopped reviewing five other companies because no one asked for it. This means no extra duties for Haur Tyi right now, and the review process is moving forward with some deadlines adjusted due to a government shutdown.
