Three projectile points to be returned

The Jamestown‑Yorktown Foundation intends to repatriate three unassociated funerary projectile points that are culturally affiliated with the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community. The items were removed from the Cascade Mountain region of Washington state before 1987 and were donated to the Foundation in 1987; repatriation may occur on or after November 9, 2026.

How tribes or descendants can request items

Any lineal descendant, Indian Tribe, or Native Hawaiian organization may submit a written request for repatriation to Basil Stewart at the Jamestown‑Yorktown Foundation (2110 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185 or the email address listed in the notice) by showing by a preponderance of the evidence that they are culturally affiliated. Competing requests will be resolved by the Foundation; joint requests count as a single request, and repatriation may occur on or after November 9, 2026.
