Notice

Summary

Big stock market players like Nasdaq and NYSE teamed up to tweak the way they calculate the overnight stock price during wild market swings. They’re moving the price check time from 7:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time to keep things smoother and faster. This change kicks in right away but only lasts up to 120 days while they gather feedback.

Consolidated Price Time Moves Earlier

If you run an Alternative Trading System (ATS) or are a market participant connected to one, the Plan changes the Consolidated Price snapshot time from 7:45 p.m. Eastern Time to 7:30 p.m. Eastern Time (15 minutes earlier). The Commission put this change into effect immediately on a temporary basis not to exceed 120 days (through February 10, 2027), and the Participants expect the change to be operative on December 6, 2026, so venues have a longer operational window before ATS overnight sessions that start at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
