Nasdaq Texas Fixes Trade Goofs for 23-Hour Trading Madness

Published Date: 10/13/2026

Notice

Summary

Nasdaq Texas is updating its rules to handle mistakes in stock trades better now that trading runs 23 hours a day, 5 days a week. This change helps keep prices fair and protects traders from big errors during extended hours. The new rule kicks in right away, making trading smoother and safer for everyone involved.

Analyzed Economic Effects

2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 0 mixed.

Overnight trades inside price bands generally stand

If a trade executes between 9:00 p.m. ET and 4:00 a.m. ET inside the LULD Price Bands (the Overnight Protected Hours), that trade generally will not be eligible for "clearly erroneous" cancellation. The rule also uses the Overnight Percentage Parameter from the LULD Plan to decide when a price deviation might be large enough for review. This change is scheduled to become operative on December 6, 2026 when 23/5 Trading begins.

Rights and warrants still reviewable overnight

Transactions in NMS stocks that are not covered by the LULD Plan (for example, rights and warrants) that execute during Overnight Protected Hours (9:00 p.m. ET through 4:00 a.m. ET) remain eligible for clearly erroneous review. Those transactions will be reviewed under the same Numerical Guidelines that apply to Pre-Market and Post-Market hours.
