LEAs' monthly homicide reporting burden

Federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial law enforcement agencies (LEAs) are asked to submit the Supplementary Homicide Report (SHR) monthly. The FBI estimates 3,381 LEAs will submit 40,572 responses per year (3,381 × 12), each taking about 9 minutes, for a total annual burden of 6,086 hours and an estimated $223,964.80 in labor cost based on a $36.80/hour mean wage.
