Published Date: 10/21/2026

Notice

Summary

The Department of Education wants to keep collecting info from states about programs for young kids with disabilities, just like they’ve been doing since 2004. They’re asking for public feedback by December 21, 2026, but no big changes or extra costs are planned. This helps make sure states keep getting the support they need without extra paperwork hassle.

Renewal of Part C State Application Collection

If you have an infant or toddler with a disability, the Department of Education is renewing the annual State Application information collection that supports Part C grants so States can provide early intervention services. States must submit assurances to be eligible for grants under 20 U.S.C. 1433 that appropriate early intervention services are available to all infants and toddlers with disabilities (including Indian infants on reservations and homeless children). The Department estimates 56 annual responses and 560 total annual burden hours (OMB Control Number 1820-0550) and is accepting public comments through December 21, 2026.
