One-year annual license issued
The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission issued an annual license to Great Lakes Hydro America, LLC for Project No. 2458 (Penobscot Mills) effective October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027. The company may operate the project under the terms and conditions of the prior license until a new license is issued or the project is otherwise disposed of under the Federal Power Act.
Automatic renewal if no new license issued
If a new license or other disposition is not issued on or before September 30, 2027, the annual license under section 15(a)(1) of the Federal Power Act will be renewed automatically without further order or notice by the Commission pursuant to 18 CFR 16.18(c), unless the Commission orders otherwise. Alternate authority if not subject to section 15
If the Penobscot Mills Project is not subject to section 15 of the Federal Power Act, Great Lakes Hydro America, LLC is authorized to continue operating the project under the terms and conditions of the prior license until the issuance of a subsequent license or other disposition under the Act. The notice affirms the company's ability to operate under prior-license terms in the non-section-15 case.
