Notice

Summary

Cboe BZX Exchange is updating its rules to add a new 'Start Time' order instruction, letting traders specify when their orders begin. This change, already used by a sister exchange, aims to give traders more control without extra costs or delays. It’s effective immediately, so traders on BZX can start using this feature right away!

New Start Time order instruction

If you are a BZX Member, you may optionally set a Start Time for an order in 30-minute increments so the order only becomes eligible for execution at that time. Start Times must be set prior to the commencement of Regular Trading Hours, cannot be during Regular Trading Hours, and the earliest Start Time with practical effect is 4:00 a.m. ET and the latest permissible Start Time is 9:00 a.m. ET. The Exchange intends to implement this change on December 7, 2026, and the order entry window will continue to be 2:30 a.m. through 8:00 p.m. ET.

Order acceptance tied to Start Time or 7:00 a.m.

Certain order types (BZX Post Only Orders; Intermarket Sweep Orders (ISOs); BZX Market Orders that are not Stop Orders or Eligible Auction Orders; Minimum Quantity Orders with a Time in Force of Regular Hours Only; and all IOC or FOK orders) will not be accepted prior to 7:00 a.m. ET or, if later, prior to the order's designated Start Time. The rule retains the 7:00 a.m. threshold and the same list of restricted order categories.
