Temporary no‑entry safety zone during race
You may not enter, transit through, anchor in, or remain within the regulated waters around the Key West Main Shipping Channel during the Race World Offshore event unless the Captain of the Port (COTP) or their representative authorizes you. The restriction is enforced from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. on November 4, 6, and 8, 2026, and covers all navigable waters extending 800 feet outward from the racecourse and all navigable waters extending 300 feet outward from the north shoreline of Sunset Key.
You must request permission via Coast Guard
If you need to be in the regulated area during the event, you must obtain permission from the Captain of the Port (COTP) or the COTP's designated representative. To seek permission, contact the COTP or their representative on VHF-FM channel 16 and comply with all lawful orders given by the COTP or designated representative.
Registered participants allowed; event size noted
People and vessels registered with the event sponsor as participants are defined as participants and are the permitted vessels in the race area; the event will include approximately 80 participants and around 300 spectator craft. The rule aims to protect event participants, spectators, and transiting vessels during the specified race dates.
